Clubbing

A week has passed, not a memorable one though. To be more precise, many unhappy incidents at the work place had made working really unpleasant. The work load is still mangeable. There is this fag that likes to probe into other people's business. Life was so much better with only 4 of us before the Fag joined the team. The only good thing about my current job is that I have a great boss who happens to be a good old fren that really cares for me, and I have a great buddy working along with me. A friend whom I really... really treasure. =)

Went back to school in the afternoon with Ivan to collect our graduation cert. We took a 2 hours off after lunch. The trip back to Boon Lay was totally draining my energy... sadly we still have to return to the office. How I wish I can go back to studies... =(

Just when I thought life couldn't get any worse, the supposedly cancelled outing for tonight was scheduled into a drinking session. (Organised by a love-struck ger in the office who is making me paranoid). Haiz... We went to one of the pubs, "Equator Pub" located at Tanjong Pagar. Surprisingly, the drinking session turned out to be enjoyable. I had a really great time and it can be considered one of the best among all my clubbing trips. The mood, company and setting was all great. I was slightly high with the whisky in my blood, oblivious to the company of the bothersome duo. Being the first time going to the pub with my Buddy and to be able to hear him sing in public was probably the Best thing about the outing. Hee hee... =Þ

All was great until the trip back home. There were 5 of us and we had some slight issues regarding the splitting of cabs. Damn retards can't give ideas ended up me pissing my buddy, Its upsetting to end the night with a bad note. Haiz... Fortunately, everything was fine and the hilarious thing was that someone mistaken that Ivan was interested in one of them and wanted to send her back home. Bwahahaha...

Really wish to write in details but getting dopey. Time to sleep... Zzz

Problem(s)

Been working till quite late these few days, the whole team is trying to complete the documentation as the deadline for the sign-off is next week. On top of the work load and stress coming from the project... there exists gay problems in the work place. Some things can never be foreseen. Haiz...

Weekend has finally arrived. Always looking forward to friday, cos there is this 2 days of rest awaiting me. =) Went to the Food Court at Cineleisure for dinner with my buddy before going to Coffee Bean at Paragon for drinks. We each ordered a cup of "White Chocolate Dream" =) If only everyday can be days like this...

Left at 2130 hrs.

National Day

Its National Day today (40th Birthday), finally a day of break/rest from the usual working routine.

Didn't really stay at home and rest though, woke up very early and meet my boss at Tanjong Pagar before he drove me to East Coast Park for wind-surfing. Today's weather is simply wonderful... Great sun, strong wind, bikini babes... just splendid. =Þ There is also a huge sand castle display along the beach, its to celebrate National Day I guess. =)

Din surf much, at most 2 hours but ended up with cuts everywhere. Instead, I spent hours sitting alone at one of the huts, enjoying the wind and scenery. The wind was very strong yet soothing. Its really a rare chance to relax there, just lazing around trying to settle the thoughts in my head, waiting for a call that never come...

I'm totally exhausted in the evening but still went for a drink with Guan Aik at one of the pubs "Duxton Blue" along Tanjong Pagar... The ladies inside tried to get fresh with me, and even tried to psycho me to buy them drinks and go for supper later... Treat him for the night as a token of gratitude for offering me the job.

I was very thirsty and was gulping down the beer like soft drink. Really regretted it, feeling slightly drunk when I made my way home with burning red skin and blood shot eyes. Worst was that the train is jam-packed with people, I was so uncomfortable in the train that I had to squat down.

Damn tired now, tomorrow still gotta work... hopefully will not have any hang-over...

Lousy Weekend

A beautiful weekend yet vexing for me. Somehow, the time seems to pass by too slowly. Most probably I'm in a lousy mood... Had a minor hiccup with my buddy yesterday. Though he assured me that its over, I still feel bad over what happened... with the incident haunting me, tormenting me every second. Think its better that I keep everything to myself from now onwards...
I'm really glad that Hao Xin jio me out for movie today together with Victor. Though I'm not really in the mood but at least it helps to kill time, and having his company helps to distract my mind. Received a World of Warcraft 7-Day Trial disc when we bought the popcorn, shall install and try the game later. Received a call from Guo Wei jioing me to play tennis while I was in the cinema.
After the movie, I accompanied HX to Harbour Front as he needs to go down to Cannon Customer Service to help his friend collect some stuffs. Had a walk around Harbour Front before we settled down for coffee at Starbucks. Hmm, there are many new stores there now. Passed by a pet shop and I went in to take a look. Was looking at the hamsters' tank and came upon this particular 'batch' of hamsters all squeezed in a plastic container. Its really cute.

There is also this amazingly huge store called "Big" that sells a wide range of household products... you can find almost anything you want there. From the store, can get to see the view of Sentosa which is directly opposite.
Made me feel better as I glanced over to the island opposite... made me feel like I'm at the beach, a place that I like to hang out when I'm bothered... ...

Fish & Co

Yippee, my first pay from my first job since I graduated. It feels really great to be finally financial independent.
Had lunch at Cafe Cartel at City Hall cos we accompanied Tin to exchange her Espirit bag. she treated us for lunch, man the chicken taste really good and the serving is extremely big...

Had dinner with my buddy at Dhoby Ghaut's Fish & Co, treated him to dinner since I had my first pay. =) Walked around Plaza Singapura after the meal. Great Day! =)

Best Day

August 2nd 2005 is an eventful day... Currently formatting my latop as I'm typing this post... so tired, shall go to bed once the formatting is done and leave the installation to tomorrow.

Nose bled early in the morning while I was having breakfast at Coffee Bean.

Made a fool of myself at the office in the afternoon. Ivan and me went to look for Esther (we guessed she is one of the SA in the department that we are working at) to borrow Visual Studio 2003 installation disc. As she asked for the name of the discs (expecting her to know what disc we wanted since we already told her), I replied "Huh, my name is Yuan Sheng" ... crap. I'm pretty sure they must be laughing behind my back after this incident.

Got to know *someone* even better today... Really make my day, not because of the stuffs that were said, but because the topic that was involved. Makes me feel really appreciated. =)

Photos Taking ;)

Woke up feeling damn tired this morning... only to realize that my mother gave me a morning call at a ridiculous time of 7am this morning, asking me to get ready for today's Photo shoot. =( She was so excited about today's event that she has been mentioning and nagging about it for the past few days. Heeding the advice of my buddy, I told my parents that we should go down earlier. Luckily, we were the 1st to arrive and a couple of minutes later, there were other customers.
Took some shots around Riverwalk before heading to Esplanade to meet my Aunt for another round of photo taking.

Sister's Convocation

Its been a while since I last updated my blog...

The Microsoft BizTalk Server training ended yesterday and the team has to return to DBS in the coming week. The whole training phase was really fun considering that the schedule was quite slack, taught at a very slow pace. Fighting against the Z-monster and munching away at the biscuits during the break-time was pretty much I did. The location of the training center (Avantus) is more convenient compared to DBS since its located at Raffles Place. Best part of the training is attending the Course with my Buddy and we usually leave around 5 plus... Hee hee =Þ Did a little window shopping and had dinner with Ivan at Orchard yesterday, the last day of the training. Haiz, if only the training was a few days/weeks longer. Ha ha

Today happens to be my Sister's Convocation Day, however I stayed at home and played games. No point going down cos their school allowed only 1 guests into the auditorium and the rest are to remain outside the compound...

Went to meet U-Xuan at Toa Payoh in the evening to return him Economics Notes I borrowed last semester.

Photo-taking with my family tomorrow... Guessed tomorrow rest day will be burned. = ...

Third Day

It's been a while since I last create a post, not that I have nothing to write though... In fact, its been the 3rd day since my buddy join me at my workplace. Its really great and fun to have him around. Nothing to write its not an excuse because working with him is "happening" and jokes plentiful... =Þ

Workload at the moment is still the same... but stress is definitely increasing. Getting more weary as the days goes by and no amount of sleep seems to be sufficient. Really makes me think of going back to study. Hmm, its an option... something that's I've been considering...

Looking forward to next week BizTalk Server Training. Guess it will come in very handy and useful in years to come. =)

Tired... that's all for today. Ha ha ha...

Walking

It was another typical day at work until early afternoon after lunch when my boss brought me to Headquarters of Reuters at OUB Building (located at Raffles Place)... we walked all the way there from DBS Tower to get some installation discs for Visual Studio. As I reached the headquarters located on the 55th storey, I was awed by the view as I peered out of the window. (okay... 'awed' may be too strong a word, but the view is really fantastic) I had a bird's eye view of the CBD, city area, piers, sea, etc... If only I have such a workplace someday, hee hee.
Went to meet Hao Xin at night cos he returning me my convocation gown... The agreed time to meet was 8.30 pm. However, there wasn't much work to do so I left early... Took a slow stroll from Tanjong Pagar to Lau Pa Sat before heading to Raffles place... walked over to One Fullerton and crossed a bridge to Esplanade... wandered into City Link before I reach City Hall... enjoying the buzy night scene of the city all the while.
Yes, 'enjoy' is the word... I always liked to spend time alone, walking and going different places observing people and happenings around me. It gives a calming effect, charging my life with inspiration as I give personal time to myself.... Its a form of relaxation to me, enjoying the cool night breeze and giving myself time to ponder over stuffs or just day dream. Of cos having a company would be great, but I have yet to meet a friend that actually enjoys walking around aimlessly with me, killing time by simply doing nothing but walk...
After I met HX, we had a drink at Coffe Bean before we decided to head home... =)

Convocation 2005

Finally, the day of graduation has arrived... though its supposedly to be an happy occasion, emotions kinda mixture of joy with tinge of sadness. It has been 4 years of my life well spent... enriching me not only in knowledge but in many other areas. Most importantly, I've meet many people and made many great friends. Gonna missed them..!!!
Quite a hectic day though, the auditorium was crowded with graduates and guests... So hard to find friends to take photos with... Anyway, below are some of the pics to share with you gers/guys. ;)

Its Friday... Yea!

Creating my posts for today while in the office... ha ha. Played DotA again last night for the first time since I started working. Getting used to the routine of travelling, working and sleeping... Its time to stress test my bio clock and see if I can survive with lesser hours of sleep... if this works out, I can work in the day and play games at night... Ha Ha. Played 2 games yesterday, lost the first one (cos I picked the wrong char by pressing the wrong shortcut key)... but we managed to win the second game.
My colleague's boyfriend just passed away recently... trying my best to keep her happy by talking crap, I'm not very good at comforting people, but most importantly, I know that she prefer us not to probe... Something that I've learnt from her... she is a very strong lady keeping her emotions away from work and remains very professional...
Hmm... Its still early, but I shall start work now... =)
So tired... obviously the stress test failed. Almost doze off a few times during work... (but then, nobody was around then... so bored with only me around). Was sleeping when *someone* called and woke me up.. ha ha.. so post something before I go and sleep... Tmr wake up and edit this posts again...

IQ Quiz

As I was walking towards my work place from Tanjong Pagar MRT station, somebody tapped at my shoulder... ha ha, turned out to be Boon Cheong. He's working at Capital Tower which happens to be very near my work place. So great to know that there are friends working around there... hee hee.
My Boss asked me 2 questions today, one is adult themed so I shall not mention the question here. The other question was:
"There's 2 room which is separated by a wall (not able to see the other room). In one room there's 3 switches and in the other, there's 3 light bulbs. So how can you differentiate which switch is to which bulb by just making 1 trip to the other room?"
I only managed to give a very good (but not the most logical answer) reply... haiz, but only to realize how silly I was when he told me the answer... damn. lol
Went to sim lim square after work to help my boss get USB cables and a 16 port switch for our server. Not a very long day today, I'm feeling tired but very happy. The working environment is good, have an excellent boss, great and friendly colleagues (there's only 3 of us now...ha ha), good pay and there are several chio bus that's only 1-3 years younger than me. Hee hee... Really enjoy working there now, hope it stays the same as time goes by. =Þ

Time is Running Out

Time's running out. Its 2311 hrs now... going to sleep soon. I can foresee myself losing sleep, I feel as though I'm back to my secondary school days... always losing sleep the night before school reopens. Haiz, joining the corporate society tmr... =(

Played 1 last game of DotA earlier on... hope I still will have time for games after work. Shall know everything by tomorrow.

Zzz...

Cookies n Cream

Time's running out... days of slacking are coming to an end. Have to start working tomorrow, haiz... :'(

Travelled quite alot today. Went all the way to Bukit Gombak to meet a friend for breakfast... Friends are very important to me, and I always believe that to remain genuine and to keep in touch, it requires initiative from either parties. That's why I always like to jio my close friends out for meals. =) Went to meet Melvin at Pickles Cafe in the afternoon for lunch. Shared a cab at around 1540 hrs to Toa Payoh cos he happens to be meeting his family there.

Learnt how to make "Cookies n Cream Ice Blended" today, share the recipe here with you all.

Cookies n Cream Ice Blended Recipe

  • 4 ounces of Fresh Milk
  • 1 1/2 Spoon of Vanilla Powder
  • 1 1/4 Cup of Ice
  • 2 Pieces of Oreo Biscuits

Place all of them into a Blender and mix well. That's all that is needed for one serving of yummy Ice Blended. Feel free to top it with whip cream, hershey choc syrup, etc... =Þ

The Lizard

Was watching "Threat Matrix" during the afternoon when I received a call from my prospective boss-to-be... He finally confirmed my job application and wanted me to start work coming Monday... so soon and unexpected, I'm not mentally and physically prepared at all. Physically in the sense that I have been slacking all the while with unpredictable sleep times, mentally in the sense that I've lost touch with the momentum to work since the end of exams. Haiz... hopefully I will not doze off whilst working and can pick up the pace asap cos I do not want to dissapoint my boss.
Met up with him at 0730 after receiving his call. He asked me out for a drink at one of the bar located at Boat Quay..."The Lizard". Drank several cups of whisky mixed with soda water, hee hee, luckily I can hold liquor well. After the drink, we went to have prata at one of the nearby stalls before I took MRT home with blushed face and blood-shot eyes. (I'm not drunk, but I get red easily... even with a sip of liquor)
Was chatting with my mum at night... long time since I chatted with my mother and we talked for a really long time (approximately an hour I guess) and we came across the topic of religion, something that my family never liked to talk about. Surprisingly, she was more than willing to share her views with me tonight... Its actually 1:21am as I'm finishing typing this posts but I let the date remain at the time I started typing...
Getting tired... turning in for the night. =)

Gathering of the Pigs

Had another mini gathering today, this time round with my JC buddies... Boon Cheong, Felicia and Tess. It was supposedly meant to be a short tea session, to meet up at our 老地方 (Long John Silver at Yishun's Golden Village)... a great hang-out place during our JC life. Met at 3pm and ended up going home around 8pm... lol. Reason being we accompanied boony to shop for an office bag... haha. Poor Tess had the intention of getting a bag too but wasn't successful in finding one to her liking. Its terrific to gather again yah? Let's do it more often. *Hee hee*... Oh, I actually bumped into quite a few friends too... people like Cecilia, Zhong Hao, Qing Jie and Edmund.
Recevied an email from a long lost friend today... someone whom I got to know while I was working as a part-timer at Hewlett Packard 7 years ago. Ha ha, its really unexpecting to hear from him, great that he still remember me! Best of all...he actually mailed to tell me he has become a father just recently and attached pics of his dear daughter. Yeah, your baby girls looks really cute (pic is only for me... sorry guys... ha ha). Congratulations yah...!!! =)
Btw, today happens to be Father's Day.. so I wished all the Dads (inclusive of my friend who has just become a father) a fantastic Happy Father's Day! =)
Primary school classmates after 13 years. =)

The First Chapter

Haiz...

Days of insomniac have driven me to desperation, it has been several days or weeks (2 to be exact) that I can't sleep at night and even during daytime... resulting in restlessness during the day. I guessed the cause for this symptom is the result of playing too much warcraft... Dota too much into wee hours of 4 - 5am.., totally screwed up my bio clock... haiz

Something worth mentioning in this post and probably the main reason that I start to blog.... I had a primary school class gathering earlier during the evening! We had a simple dinner at Marche (Heeren's), followed by a coffee session at Paragon. The turn up rate was excellent considering its our 1st gathering since we graduated from PSLE... Hmm, after 13 years!!! =)

Shux, its hard to jot down the topics, gossips and flashbacks that we twaddle throughout... and its really amazing how some of you all still remembered the minor details of happenings during then. Its fantastic to catch up with you gers/guys, exchanging contacts... and one thing for sure, its really great to know that you all are doing well. Really looking forward to the next class gathering.. Yeah! Sad thing is that I was "arrowed" to be the organiser for the next gathering.., (shall keep my fingers crossed... lol).

This is my first post since I first set up this account in July 2004... There are many thoughts and stuffs that I wish to write down, but my mind is not functoning properly right now... hee hee. Kinda sad that the first post started with a sad note. But at least I did something constructive by starting to blog. Well, things will get better I guess... =)
